About Energovis

Independent energy consultancy - Surrey, UK.

Julian Keites' career began in petroleum geology. He worked offshore on North Sea oil rigs with Schlumberger, gaining hands-on exposure to the upstream industry before the markets.
He won a scholarship to study an MSc in Petroleum Exploration at Imperial College London. After deciding not to pursue a PhD at UMIST, he moved into oil markets — a transition that would define the next three decades of his career.
He built his career across GNI, Cargill, Société Générale Fimat, and World Kinect. At Cargill and later Fimat in Surrey, he helped build and lead successful brokerage and OTC dealing businesses during the 2003–2009 commodity bull market. At World Kinect, he helped develop the company's global trading business, gaining extensive exposure to airline and oil major risk management practices.
Throughout his career, Julian has worked closely with airlines, fuel buyers, and energy firms to reduce forward price risk, design hedging strategies, and improve commercial decision-making in volatile markets. He is particularly focused on helping businesses build practical, resilient fuel risk frameworks that reflect real commercial needs — not generic market templates.
Today, Energovis focuses on three themes: changing risk environments, sustainable travel and lower-carbon fuel pathways, and the reality that no two businesses share the same appetite for risk. The firm is supported by a trusted network of specialist experts in foreign exchange, IT and software development, and sustainability verification — allowing it to combine market insight with technical delivery, quantitative tools, and compliance support depending on client needs. Solutions are always tailored to each client's physical exposures, financial goals, and operational constraints. If you are reviewing your approach to fuel risk, we would be pleased to discuss it with you.
